A Mini Rebrand for RMR Homes
Background – About RMR Homes
RMR Homes are an award-winning home renovation company based in Berkshire, who provide a complete service from design through to finish including bespoke hand built cabinetry by their master craftsmen in Crowthorne to home owners across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey and London. They formed when RMR Construction (est 2004) exclusively used the cabinetry and joinery services of Bennett Brothers (est 1974), operating as separate companies for a while before deciding to operate as RMR Homes.
We’ve been working as their part-time marketing lead since March 2018. You can read an earlier post about our journey with them here.
What was the problem?
The shop front still had both company names in a prominent position, which new customers who had been recommended RMR Homes again found confusing.
RMR Homes are deservedly proud of their heritage and didn’t want to lose the Bennett Brothers presence completely from their collateral, since they are a significant part of day to day operations as well as a large part of the heritage of RMR Homes: the two founding brothers Bennett remain as part time advisers, and second and third generation members of the Bennett family still make up a large part of the company and leadership team.
What did we do?
We conducted a collaborative re-branding exercise with the team with the primary objective of updating their tag line to accurately reflect what RMR Homes does. This was a post-it note, brain-storm, word association and word ordering exercise. We were delighted that Kriss Bennett, a 3rd generation member of the family who specialises in CAD design, came up with the final tag line.
RMR were clear that they did not want to radically rebrand in terms of look and feel, but they did want to tweak their brand to become more modern and to reflect what they did, emphasising the quality and customer focus that they’re famous for.
We used our Awesome Brief process to obtain quotes from several trusted as well as potential new suppliers and were pleased to select the fabulous Abstract Print and Design for the design work, and Zoo signs for the production.
We selected the information to be displayed on their shop front to make it easy for passing potential customers to understand what RMR Homes offer, as well as to reflect their heritage. We decided to include:
- Company Name
- Contact Information
- Award Winning Family Business
- Visual Example of work
- Their heritage story
What was the outcome?
RMR Homes have a new logo, a new tag line, logo formats that work in both print and on social media, new roundabout sponsorship signs, new business cards and a stunning new shop front, which they’re so pleased with they invited the parents along to take a look.
We think the new shop front looks very stylish and truly reflects everything that RMR stand for.
Some nice things RMR Homes have said about working with Brief Marketing.
“We love our new business cards, we’ve been told by the local community how effective our roundabout signs look and we’re delighted with the new shop front.”
